Everything here is placed by measurement. The wireframe is the imaged block at 1 × 1 × 0.1 mm. The grey plane is a real EM cross section pulled from the imagery layer at 288 nm per voxel, sitting at mid depth. The cell is one reconstructed pyramidal neuron at true relative scale, and it sits where it actually sits: 221 and 219 µm from the block centre, almost exactly mid slab in depth. Turn it edge on and you can see that a 92 µm tall cell nearly fills the 100 µm thickness.
