WHY BANC?
A whole nervous system, in one map.
The BANC (Brain and Nerve Cord) is the first fly connectome that includes the whole central nervous system, mapped down to the synapse. Because the brain and the nerve cord were reconstructed together, a single pathway can be followed from the brain all the way to the motor neurons that move a leg or a wing.
GO DEEPERWhat is a connectome?
